The Ohio State Buckeyes suffered their first season loss in NCAA Men’s Basketball to the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday. Down 15 points in the second half, Wisconsin leaned on Jordan Taylor to rally against No. 1 Ohio State for a 71-67 victory.
Taylor led Wisconsin with 27 points, 21 of which were scored in the second half to come overcome a 15-point deficit. He had 8 straight points in a 15-0 run that included two consecutive three-pointers.
The Badgers have also beaten the then No.1 Ohio State football team 31-18 this season.
Jon Leuer and Mike Bruesewitz added 12 points each for Wisconsin while Josh Gasser had 11 points. Wisconsin made 12 of their 24 attempts from the three-point area against 3 out of 9 made by Ohio State.
Analysts have given No. 13 Wisconsin a good chance of beating Ohio State given their solid home record. The Badgers seemed like established the Kohl Center as their fortress and they have been unbeatable at home. Wisconsin has 17 straight victories at home and is now 150-11 at home under head coach Bo Ryan.
William Buford finished with 21 points for the Buckeyes. Freshman sensation Jared Sullinger had 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Buckeyes.
